About The Project
The Institute has been assigned as a field agency to survey the entire Tripura. IIHMR took up the fieldwork in two stages. The first stage of fieldwork consisted of mapping and listing of households in selected sample village (s)/urban block (s). This served as a frame for the selection of households for collecting information in prescribed survey schedules and in the second phase (main survey) across Tripura State. The fieldwork for mapping and listing in the State of Tripura was completed in November 2023 covering a total of 384 PSUs across the 8 districts of Tripura. Main survey was completed in July 2024.

About The Project
This project evaluated the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) in the state of Karnataka, aiming to discern the scheme’s efficacy, reach, and economic ramifications on a diverse array of stakeholders, including Kendra entrepreneurs, beneficiary households, and medical practitioners. By employing structured survey instruments, the study captured an array of perspectives, thereby facilitated a multi-dimensional understanding of the PMBJP’s operational landscape and its overarching impact.

About The Project
The implementation study was conducted in Villathikulam and Pudur Taluks, Thoothukudi District, Tamilnadu. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), diabetes (men-25, women-22), hypertension (men-28, women-25), Alcohol (men-21.6), tobacco consumption (men- 18.5) is considerably high in Thoothukudi district compared to national average (DM -men (18), women (16), HPT- men (27), women (24), Alcohol (16,5) and Tobacco (29). Baseline data was collected in the study location. Besides, conducted awareness sessions related to NCDs (hypertension and diabetes) risk behaviour viz., tobacco, alcohol consumption, physical exercise, and nutrition/balanced diet among adults above 18 years; physical activity was promoted in the community. As part of the intervention, on pilot basis a community gym was established in one HSC.

About The Project
This program focused on underprivileged communities living in the urban slums of Bangalore in strengthening 1st 1000 days and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD). The program 1) identified the gap and strengthened the 1st 1000 days for improved Maternal Child Health outcomes. 2) Enrolled children aged 6 months to 3 years in each creche (total 3 creches), provided nutritious snacks and early simulation for the overall development (Cognitive, Language, Physical, Social, and Emotional) of the child 3) Provided health literacy to parents of ECCD beneficiaries and community on 1st 1000 days viz., child growth and development, IYCF, Early Childhood Education, Food and Nutrition, WASH, Immunization, Family Planning, etc and also improved demand to seek healthcare from public health facilities/FLWs.
