About the Program
The rapid evolution of Industry 4.0 has positioned Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science as pivotal technologies reshaping enterprise management across sectors, particularly in healthcare. These technologies are instrumental in the fourth industrial revolution, enabling significant advancements and innovation. Recognizing the critical role of AI and Data Science in healthcare, the Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore, has launched a new educational initiative: the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), set to begin in 2024.
This two-year Industry Standards learning Program is designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals who can adeptly navigate the complexities of AI and Data Science within the healthcare sector. By integrating these technologies, the program aims to enhance healthcare delivery outcomes through innovation and informed decision-making. The curriculum is tailored to equip aspiring healthcare professionals with the necessary expertise to harness the potential of AI and Data Science, fostering a new era of efficiency and effectiveness in healthcare services.
Upon the program’s complete completion, a student would acquire:
⇒ To develop understanding of fundamental management concepts, basic healthcare principles, statistical analysis, mathematical reasoning, and introductory Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts
⇒ To gain a strong knowledge base of both unsupervised and supervised machine learning methods, alongside associated data analysis techniques. This cognitive skill set enables students to effectively address practical challenges in management and technology across various industry sectors.
⇒ To equip the students to manage organizational processes efficiently in business or healthcare contexts, using data-driven decision-making strategies.
⇒ To develop students’ understanding of product design and management methodologies, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as Big Data Analytics, AI, Metaverse, and IoT.

The course curriculum is designed to learn from classroom education from our faculties and gain practical knowledge and industry exposure with summer training, internships, field visits and guest lectures from Industry experts. Total Credits 120.

Since IIHMR Bangalore is an autonomous Institution approved by AICTE, Ministry of Education, GoI; we keep upgrading our curriculum as and when required per the Industry’s expectation. Hence, the curriculum followed by IIHMR Bangalore is Industry-relevant and the need of the hour for people interested in shaping their career in the Public Health sector.
The course will include two months of summer training towards the end of the first year, and four months of internship (dissertation work) towards the end of the second year.
Note: The curriculum may be subjected to undergo changes as per the suggestions of AAC (Academic Advisory Council).
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in any Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Computer Application, Information Technology/Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce and Economics.
- Medical and Allied Graduates BDS, BAMS, MBBS or any Post Graduate degree in Allied Health Sciences from any stream from recognized university or Institute, must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics or Computer Science as one of the Subject.
- National and State Level Aptitude Test which includes CAT, MAT and KMAT or similar
- Candidates with professional experience and defence personnel are also encouraged to seek admissions for career change/development.

♦ CAT aspirants who have scored 90 percentiles or above OR Candidates having MAT score above 95 percentile or above will get 50% tuition fee waiver both years.
♦ GATE aspirants who have score 90 percentile or above will get 50% tuition fee waiver both years.
♦ Any student, who has secured more than or equal to 85% aggregate marks qualifying examination, would be eligible for the scholarship of 50% tuition fee waiver in the 1st ear.
♦ Any student, more than 75% and less than 85% aggregate marks, would be eligible for the scholarship of 40% tuition fee waiver in the 1st year.

♦ Who has more than 60% and less than or equal to 75% aggregate marks in Ayush / BDS, /BTech/MTech would get a scholarship of 20 % tuition fee of 1st year of PGDM.

The course is approved by AICTE . Hence, all major banks will be willing to provide educational loan for this course. The Institute will support and facilitate the student with the bank loan-related documents required from the Institute. Students can obtain bank loan documents from our Accounts Department after paying the first Installment fee.
