Following the success of our first cohort in 2021, we are thrilled to announce the re-launch of the “Certificate Program on Public Health Nutrition (CPPHN) – Cohort 2.”
India still continues to grapple with the triple burden of malnutrition, including undernutrition, overnutrition/overweight, and micronutrient deficiencies. According to the GBD 2021, dietary risks are the 4th leading modifiable factor contributing to death and disability. The rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in India is driven by a dietary shift towards processed foods, combined with sedentary lifestyles and poor dietary habits.
In response, we have designed the “Certificate Program on Public Health Nutrition (CPPHN) – Cohort 2” to equip professionals/participants/communities with the knowledge and dietary skills to address these nutrition challenges, enhance program management, and promote healthier dietary choices.

Overview
Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) are considered robust research designs placed at the top of the evidence pyramid. RCT design is commonly employed in drug development and is often regarded as a resource-intensive study design. Investor-initiated RCTs are less popularized, yet the most reported study design is found across literature databases like PubMed, Medline, and Embase. The RCT study design can test public health and digital interventions for efficacy. The medical, research and public health coursework often reserve the detailed learnings of RCTs citing the design is resource intensive. The methodology and processes under the RCT study design are highly flexible and can be used in resource-intensive, non-clinical, and community settings. Researchers in Development Sector and Public Health Sector can benefit from understanding the core concepts of RCT design and conduct, improving the research output and quality for evidence from the development sector.
Objectives
- To understand the theory of Randomized Controlled Trials and methodologies of conducting RCTs in non-clinical settings.
- Develop an ability to ethically undertake RCT and study design in community settings, clinics, and other non-clinical settings.
- Training on sample data to understand the process of data management and analysis involved in RCT.
- Articulate reporting formats and ethical compliances necessary to undertake RCT study design.
Programme Fees
INR 20,000/- (including GST) per person for participants from India and its equivalent in US Dollars for participants from other countries.
