Brief
Dr C.S Kedar, as Secretary, Finance rolled out the biggest IT project ‘KHAJANA’, completely digitising the financial transactions of Government. Aggregating health needs of poor through Yeshasvini health insurance, benefitted 20 lakh families of rural cooperatives. As Joint Secretary at Cabinet Secretariat Rastrapathy Bhavan, handled policy issues at highest level. Took a leading part in revamping CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme). As Director General, ESI Corporation, handled health insurance and health service provision to 62 million Indians through its own chain of 150 hospitals and 1500 dispensaries and for those services not available within ESI, got them provided through 800 networked private super specialty hospitals across India. Started graduate and post graduate medical courses and Institutions across 12 locations.
Additionally, set up 8 model modern model hospitals and modernised 22 of the existing hospitals. Issued smart cards to more than 15 million insured persons, creating first time ever huge Digital Clinical Data Records of 62 million Indians.
He also served as a bureau member of International Social Security Association (ISSA) – an advisory body to ILO (International Labour Organization) and Member INDO-US working group on Occupational health, safety, and Rehabilitation. Was member on Board of Governors of IIM-Ranchi. Post retirement, as CEO of JSW Foundation, set up a 200 bedded multi-speciality hospital and launched a path breaking mission ‘Mothers’ Against Malnutrition’ among vulnerable children and presently scaling up the mission pan India.
Presently as a founder director of Bionic Yantra he is passionately striving towards enabling spinal cord injured and stroke patients walk again. As Chairman, Governing Council at India4IAS Academy he is guiding candidates aspiring to join civil services. Being Senior Advisor, Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore he is focused on frontiers digital hospitals of future. As Chief Advisor, Spirulina Foundation he is committed to scaling up the Mothers’ Against Malnutrition Mission pan India. He is also the Chief Mentor at Ramaseva Mandali, a cultural organization of national repute.
