Dr. Karuna Rameshkumar graduated from Madras University and holds a postgraduate degree and a PhD from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. She has worked in various capacities at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore, for 33 years and continues to chair the Institutional Ethics Committee after retirement. As head of the laboratory services, she was instrumental in getting the lab accredited, and St. Johns Medical College Hospital Laboratory Services were the first medical college to get laboratory accreditation. She is a faculty member for the GCLP (Good Clinical Laboratory Practices) training, internal audit training, and quality control practices. She is also an assessor for the NABL and NABH blood bank.
