Dr. Subhagata Chattopadhyay brings his 30 years of healthcare experience as a medical doctor with 20 years of domain expertise in ML and AI applications in Clinical Decision Support Systems. His passion is to strategize technology applications in building futuristic cutting-edge technology solutions and setting up a viable business around it. Dr. Chattopadhyay received his MBBS (1986-91) and DGO (Gynecology and Obstetrics 1994-96) from Medical College Calcutta under Calcutta University, MS (Bioinformatics) from SMU MAHE Manipal (2002-05), and Ph.D. (IT) from IIT Kharagpur (2004-07). He pursued a full-time postdoctoral fellowship at the University of New South Wales in Singapore and Sydney Australia (2007-2009). He had been instrumental in the success of EMR implementation in six developing nations during 2007 and 2008 under WHO. In his continuous career path, Dr. Chattopadhyay taught AI and ML applications at various Engineering Institutes as a Reader and full Professor (School of Computing), and guided masters and Ph.D. students. He also headed two Engineering Institutes as the Principal and the Director in India. In his professional journey, Dr. Chattopadhyay has also been a member of the senior management team, e.g. GM-to-CEO (Operations), Head of Specialist and Pharmacy business (brick and mortar retail chain), Founder-Director of an AI Chatbot company, COO of a Biosensor company, VP, and so on. Subhagata owns the Indian copyright for mental disease screening software. He has an edited book ‘Advances in Therapeutic Engineering’ with CRC Press USA on his credit. His over 150 high-impact research publications on Healthcare using AI/ML and Data Science in several International Journals, conferences, and chapters in books of repute are pioneering to researchers and academicians across the world and are continuously being cited. He was a frontline COVID warrior and received the Chairman’s Special Award of Hindustan Unilever for his exemplary contribution to successfully implementing the COVID-19 prevention strategy.
