Resource Centre For Health & Hospital Management

The library of IIHMR Bangalore is a Central place for Academics, Knowledge Acquisition and Research activities. It has a rich collection of books, periodicals, dissertations, project reports, faculty publications, and case studies; the Collection also includes E-resources from leading Databases. The library has a unique collection of publications in various fields such as Health Management, Hospital Management, Health Information Technology. A collection of training materials, handbooks, manuals, reports, and conference proceedings are also available.

The library has a collection of more than 5400 volumes, including textbooks, reference books, training manuals, reports and conference proceedings. In addition, it has more than 800 student theses & dissertation, 25 national and international journals, 16 magazines and 10 newspapers in various languages. The IIHMR Bangalore Library is now open access for its users and an integrates with KOHA software along with OPAC Facility.

We answer questions over the telephone and also answer questions submitted through the e-mail. This method is usually best for factual or directory type questions, certain other types of questions may be best answered in person.
3News Paper Clipping ServiceIIHMR-B library provides email alerts news in the field of Health, Hospital, HIT, Demography, Management, to all the library users daily.
4Reprographic Service: PhotocopyPhotocopy and printing facility also available for student academic use. Photocopy in the library that provides the service at a nominal price for students and other scholars who access articles through Electronic Databases.
5OPAC ServiceLibrary users can search the library catalogue and other online material through this OPAC service in remotely

Any one of our library users can take the induction & Orientation about the library. Most of the new batch students & newly joined employees can avail this service.

8Alert ServiceIIHMR, Bangalore library alerts users weekly regarding list of research articles appeared in journals, edited books, conference, seminars on health Management studies and related disciplines. This can help us to our library user to get this benefit.

1.Issue of books/Journals/Magazines (Faculty)

  • Faculty can borrow a maximum of ten books at a time for a period of one month.
  • It can be extended for the next 30 Days
  • Journals and Magazines will be issued on an overnight period basis

2.Issue Of Books/Journals/Magazines (Research Officer/Staffs)

  • Research Officers and Staffs can borrow a Maximum of five books at a time for a period of one month.
  • It can be extended for the next 30 Days.
  • Journals and Magazines will be issued on an overnight period basis.

3. Issue Of Books (Students)

  • A student can borrow only four books at a time for a period of one week.
  • It can be extended for the next one week. If the students fail to return the books on time, an overdue fine of Rs. 5/- (Five Rupees Only) per day is collected.
  • Students will be responsible for any kind of damages or loss of books or other items issued. They will be required to recover all costs associated with the repair/replacement of such items.
  • Loss of library books should be reported to the Library Staff Immediately in writing.
  • At the end of the academic year, all students must return the Library books/Materials borrowed and take a No Due Certificate from the Library before leaving the Institute.

General Library Rules:

  • All students and staff of the Institute are members of the Library.
  • Marking, underlining or writing on library books, periodicals, and newspapers is strictly forbidden.
  • The librarian may call for a book at any time, even if the normal period of loan has not expired.
  • Books taken from the shelf should be left on the study table and no effort should be made to relocate these books.
  • The members should take good care of library furnishings and equipment. Make sure the library looks as good when you leave as it did when you came in.
  • Drink and food are not allowed in the Library.
  • Library computers are for academic purpose only. Do not tamper with the computer settings. Follow the internet safety guidelines.
  • Strict order and silence shall be maintained in the library and speak softly if needed.
  • Do not use a mobile phone inside the Library.
  • Personal books are not allowed inside the Library.
  • Issued books are not allowed inside the Library.
  • Mandatory to produce the Institute ID Card for Issue and Renewal of books.

Library Timings

Library Timings are as follows:
Monday- Saturday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
– 2nd& 4th Saturday and all Sundays & Closed Holidays
Issue/Return Timings : Monday- Saturday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Responsibilities of the committee are as follows:

  • Advises and reviews Library policies for instruction, resources, services and the facility
  • Discusses budgetary issues for books, journals, online databases etc.
  • Advice regarding Library services, especially innovation for the campus community.
  • Ensure the Library is connected with and supports the Institute academic, research and training programs.
  • This committee shall meet as often as possible but at least once in a quarterly / case-specific for discussion and review
